The people of St, Peter Downtown can best be described by one word, in the language of its founders "Comprometida" or "committed" in the language of our current demographic. They are committed to God, who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to the study of His Word, to family, the local community, and each other.  Proud of its Latino roots, St. Peter began as "Iglesia Luterana San Pedro."  At one time they even had their own parochial school.  Now we are an interestingly diverse mix of Latino, German, Scandinavian and other European heritages.  Our services are almost entirely English, but sometimes we sing in Spanish to make welcome those who are still learning English.   

We welcome all people to join us on our journey with Jesus.  Our members come from the four corners of the Greater Houston Metro and many walks of life.
