At St. Peter, we are a diverse family united in Jesus Christ, grounded in a rich heritage that traces back to our founding as Iglesia Luterana San Pedro in 1936.

Worship & Bible Study Schedule

We offer traditional, blended, and contemporary worship styles that reflect the rich diversity of our congregation.

  • Sunday Worship Service: 9:30 AM (Services are primarily in English, with Spanish song offerings and sermon summaries)
  • Sunday Bible Study & Sunday School: 10:45 AM (Classes available for all ages)
  • Thursday Bible Study: 11:00 AM (In-person and live online via Zoom)

Pastoral Leadership

Our congregation is blessed with dedicated, experienced leaders who share a passion for shepherd care, teaching, and outreach:

  • Pastor Raymond: Senior Pastor sharing local ministry, preaching, and congregational care. (Email: pastor.raymond@stpeterdowntownhouston.org)
  • Pastor Jose R. Argueta: Missions Pastor. Pastor Jose leads worship, provides pastoral counseling, conducts year-end mission trips across Latin America and the Mexico border, and serves as an instructor and administrator for the Glocal Mission Bible Institute. (Email: rev.joserargueta@icloud.com)

What We Believe

As a congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), we confess:

  • Scripture Alone (Sola Scriptura): The Bible is God's inspired, inerrant Word and our sole authority.
  • Faith Alone (Sola Fide): Salvation is received purely as a free gift through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Christ Alone (Solus Christus): Jesus is our only Savior, Mediator, and Lord.
